Installed Vista dual boot, think I screwed up!
That won't have what was on the old computer either. Not everything is saved in "my documents," so I may not even be able to find it all to back it up. Then that's a very serious issue that you I have XP on my other computer (although the hard drive did crash once), and have heard that Vista has too many bugs.

Create an image of your system and store it on the external hard drive. Alongside the image, copy your data onto the external drive. That message is from the Vista boot loader. So it's actually starting to load Vista. As soon as you power it on, hit Alt-F10 and hold it, and see if that works. You might also try Crtl-F10 as well. They MAY have changed the keystroke on later models. My Acer uses Alt-F10, so that is what I am going by.
